Katica Illényi jazz concert, before her guest appearance in Turkey

Katica Illényi, Liszt and Artist of Merit of Hungary award winning violinist can be seen in concert on June 7th, at the MOM Cultural Center Dome Hall.

The Hungarian audience will be the first to see and hear Katica’s newest jazz production at MOM Dome Hall on June 7th. During the evening she will not only play the violin, but will sing also. Her younger brother Csaba will make a guest appearance playing the violin. Tiger rag, Lady be good, Sweet Georgia and Hallelujah will be heard among other pieces that weren’t part of the artists repertoire the past years.

She will be accompanied by - the brass section of the Modern Art Orchestra, István Bundzik on piano, who is a jazz faculty professor at the Béla Bartók Conservatory of Music in Miskolc, Sándor Sárkány on double bass and László Csízi on the drums. The event’s art director and conductor will be Kornél Fekete-Kovács who will also arrange the show. “It’s been a long time since we played together with Kornél Fekete-Kovács, we performed at the Academy of Arts and the Palace of Arts together about eight years ago. The Turkish invitation is a great opportunity for us, but the Hungarian audience is at first place, that is why my new jazz program will debut at home.” – said the artist.

Katica will be dressed by Andi Bencsik costume designer, who works to together with international stars in movies and television series.

The audience can watch and listen to her 90 minute concert, with no intermission, on June 7th at 7PM at MOM Dome Hall.
